Six Word Saturday.

I am experimenting with a new blog thing called Six Word Saturday. Each Saturday that I am near a computer I will be putting up a six word statement about my life or an opinion or something. Here is my first attempt.

After days of Rain, Sunshine, Ahhhhh!!!!!!!

There is a link here to other folks who do this as well................. Check Here to learn more.

Took a couple of pictures in the yard today while I was out doing a bit of yard work.
I discovered this wild strawberry while putting water in the birdbath.
It is nestled under that birdbath, amongst some Pachysandra plants.
Since I am highly allergic to strawberries I will let someone else enjoy it.

This second picture is of our "burning bush"... Its latin name is Eunomyous Compactus. Click here to learn more about it. It is just beginning to turn its color to the
gorgeous shade of read it will become.

Gerome flies the coop

If you have been following Gerome's antics I must tell you he has left us and is now only a memory and a few pictures. But it was fun.

Some time before Gerome came to visit I made a "Gnome Home" out of gourd I got from my friend Peg. We created little gourd items at a "mini" camp up in Ithaca NY area at Sharon's house. So the house was at the ready before Gerome arrived.... Here is a picture of him checking it out.

The day he was to leave he started to argue that he didn't want to go back into the printer.... the way he came but instead use the Tardis which is so much more fun......

So that is how I sent him away.GOOD BYE GEROME!!!!!

I will be getting back to a more normal conversation in the weeks to come. I have some art projects planned, some mini projects planned and no telling what else. We shall have to wait and see.

I think we will miss Gerome though.

Gerome becomes a Blue Grass Fan

A week ago we loaded up our camper and headed to Upperco, Maryland for the Arcadia Blue Grass Festival. It is our third visit to a festival there and as usual we had a grand time though it was a bit different this time, cause we had Gerome along.

Upon returning home it took a while to get the pictures ready for the blog. But here they are.

As most of the GSOLFOT members who have hosted Gerome know.... he loves food. So naturally he was at the center of things when we stopped for lunch on our way to the Festival. This was at a favorite spot... The Interstate 83 Diner, near York PA. Of course he is standing right in front of a picture of dessert.
A tradition when we camp is to have french toast, sausage and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Gerome was right there for it!

Finally the concerts began. The first group we saw was one of our favorites, Aspen Run. If you look closely you will see Gerome, sneaking on stage. If you click on these pictures you will see them better.
Another group we love is called the Blue Grass Brothers. They put on a wild show. And of course Gerome was getting braver and moved to center stage.

The final group Gerome bothered was Gold Wing Express. They had apparently set up a table and he jumped right on it.

After three days of watching great blue grass entertainers perform Gerome now he thinks he is a blue grass entertainer too.

There will be a final installment tomorrow.

Apple Pie says fall to me

APPLE PRALINE PIE

I thought I would get everyone's mouth watering with a picture of a pie I made today. We have several apple trees in the back yard. This is the last pie I can make from our harvest this year. The deer got their share as well!

I usually make an apple pie with the good old tried and true recipe in the Betty Crocker cookbook I got for a wedding present MANY years ago.

But for this one I decided to try something different. I found the following recipe from the Pillsbury Website.

While the pie was baking I worked on pictures of the Blue Grass festival and the rest of Gerome's trip. I should have that for you tomorrow.

Trip to a Blue Grass festival

Gerome joined us for a wonderful four day trip to a BlueGrass festival in Maryland. Festivals are our new favorite thing to do..... this will be our fifth and final (I think) festival of the year. I will have a LOT of pictures when I get some time to post them. But for now here is Gerome peeking out of our camper, ready to go.
