Here I am with my 4th Tea Cup Tuesday entry.  Last week I told you I had purchased two tea cups when I went to New Brunswick.  Here is the second one.

If you look closely you may notice that this one is very similar to one of the violet teacups I showed a couple of weeks ago. They are both part of a series of Canadian Provincial Flowers.  The violet one, two weeks ago represented New Brunswick.  The one this week is the provincial flower of  Newfoundland and Labrador.  It is the Pitcher Plant.  Lovely don't you think.    

It is another Royal Albert tea cup.  I like a number of different brands of the bone china tea cups but Royal Albert is definitely my favorite.

Other peoples gardens inspire me.

We have been home from our travels for a few days and are slowly seeing life get back to normal.  The car is still fully unpacked however.  But we will get to it.

Meanwhile, going back over all the pictures I took along the way I found that after pictures at the various flea markets, the next most popular pictures were taken in gardens of the friends and family we visited and stayed
with.

The pictures are from three different gardens. The first one was in a garden in Gloucester, Mass..  I loved the ceramic mushrooms.

The next two were in Maine.

And the final two were taken in New Brunswick, Canada

Tea Cup Tuesday

While on vacation last week in New Brunswick, Canada I made it my mission to find a special teacup.   I found one and bought it and then I found another so had to buy it too.  But then stopped looking!!!

I will show one this week and the other next week. So be sure to check me out then.

This tea cup is a Royal Albert.  I don't know the name but I just loved it. Look at the delicate little yellow flowers flowing down the sides of the cup and the plate.  This cup and saucer would have to be for a special occasion.

Flea markets in Maine

When we lived in Maine I loved going to flea markets and we still enjoy visiting them when we go back to Maine. We were there last week and here are a few pictures of one where they had a LOT of Maine type stuff.

 Wish we could get here more often.

Bottles, bottles and more bottles

Since I have started decorating bottles I have been looking for them everywhere.  Here are a few I found when we were in Maine going to flea markets.

This first picture shows a few tables that overwhelmed me.   And they were all only $1.00 a piece.

And here was a wagon full of bottles

Isn't this window pretty, a great way to use all the colorful bottles. 

I did not end up buying any bottles but I sure enjoyed looking.   More flea market pictures tomorrow.

Tea Cup Tuesday.

Last Tuesday I showed one of my favorite teacups as my first entry with  Tea Cup Tuesday.  This Tuesday I decided to show three teacups.

When I was in college I joined a sorority and our flower was the violet.  So for some of the early tea cups that I purchased they just had to have violets on them.  The one on the left is a Royal Albert tea cup.  I think it is the most beautiful.  In the center there is a teacup that I bought back in the late 60s when we went to New Orleans.  There is a label on the bottom that says it is from a shop called Dupree's. Don't know if it still exists. This teacup is a Gladstone Bone china teacup. The one on the right is a Royal Grafton.  There are all bone china, all made in England and all much loved.
     I wonder what I will find to show you next week.

Bottles as Art

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I was taking a class in bottle art.  I am glad it is on line because I can take my time!!!

The first part has been a lot of decoupage and so therefore is slow, at least it is for me.  Glue gets everywhere and I have to keep letting it dry before I can move on.

So far I have done three layers.  I took a picture of the first layer, the gold paper, ( a heavy crinkled paper) then I didn't take a picture after I added the purple stringy stuff.... ) but I did take a picture of it with the gold stringy stuff added on top.  Don't you love my descriptions.  Actually both the purple and the gold were some sort of ribbons I got from the Berwick/Offrey ribbon outlet, a favorite source in a nearby town. I tore them up before I added them.

So here are the pictures.  I plan to add ribbons, beads, button and more "stuff" but this is it for the moment.
