Off to the races at Dover.

Sorry, I have been away for a while.  We did some traveling and then my neck decided to go into spasms for a few days.   After a lot of rest and some muscle relaxers that is now behind me.

We were able to attend one more Nascar Race this year, our fourth!  Unfortunately it was very cold but at least the rain held off this time.  And while we had some free time one morning we went to FLEA MARKET!!! Yes, we found one.  It was in Dover Delaware.  What fun we had. 

I didn't buy any tea cups this time but managed to take a couple of pictures of some of the things I saw.  I will probably include them in my next Tea Cup Tuesday blog next week.  I should also have taken pictures of the great produce we found but alas I didn't.  We are still enjoying the fresh sweet potatoes and the Butternut Squash.

The really best thing we did while at the races was visit the Camping World store in the fan fest area and we bought a generator.so now we don't have to worry if a campground doesn't have electricity as many don't.  I will be able to use my computer more AND it should be a help making sure our sump pump keeps running if we run out of electricity during a HEAVY rain fall!

When we attended the Dover Raceway Fan Fest we got to see many interesting things but this was our favorite!  If you look closely that is a biker "showing off."

Fall Colors Everywhere at our Campsite

This past week we took our brand new camper out on what will probably be our last camping event of the season.  We headed up north in our state to a wonderful camping area at Hammond Lake.  It is run by the 
Army Corp of Engineers and the area was developed as a result of flooding back in the 1970s.

The fall colors were beginning to disappear but enough left to make the scenery in the campsite lovely.
and because it was late in the season there were not very many campers so it was lovely and peaceful.
Here are a few other pictures I took of the area around us.

 This picture, which was taken by my husband, shows across the lake.  You can see the reflections of the trees above in the lake below.  Because it was so still you can see them pretty clearly.

Another picture of reflections.  This was across a little inlet.  The pavilion was for picnics.  I imagine it is very busy and full in summer months.

Just up the lane from where we camped we had the pleasure of looked at these wonderful Maple trees in Full color!  They almost glowed.

We will no doubt go back to Hammond Lake next year.  It is such a great place.  But for now we can just enjoy all the pictures that we took and relive the moments there.

End of an Era

"Goodbye Fun Finder"

      Yesterday we said goodbye to our little camper called the Fun Finder.  We sold it and are now ready to enjoy our bigger one. It was sort of bitter sweet to see it go.  We have wonderful memories of the little Fun Finder.  We attended 4 Nascar races, many Blue Grass festivals and a couple of just plain camping outings.


But now it is time to enjoy our new camper.  The little camper was good but we always we felt like we needed a couple more feet.... so now we do.  Three more to be exact.  We won't have to give up the dinette every night for a bed!  And the bathroom is bigger.

The new camper weighs very little more than the old  one so we can still tow it easily with our mini-vans.
That is good cause we don't need a truck but in our antique business we do need the mini-vans.

I hope to have lots of adventures to report with the new camper.  Stay tuned................

Six Word Saturday

Our Camping Season is Probably Over

We had plans to head out this weekend to use our camper one last time for the season HOWEVER weather at the campground was forecast to be lousy so we decided to stay home. I am sorry as it seems sad to cover up the camper and know it won't be used again for awhile. On the other hand we can now start looking forward and making plans for camping for next year. So it isn't all bad and we can look back at the great memories we made this year. We went to one Nascar Race, five Blue Grass Festivals and one Blue Grass jam weekend in the camper. Who knows what we will add next year.
