Spring Might be on Its Way

Punsatawny Phil,  the notorious Pennsylvania Ground Hog,  may have predicted 6 more weeks of winter but I see a lot of signs that Spring isn't too far away.

I checked my garden where there are a lot of daffodil bulbs and they are coming up nicely.  Here is a picture I posted on my blog last year....  almost the same day.  They were coming up but not too tall.

Now look at this year.....  way ahead.....

The temps seem to be up and down but we are actually having some very nice days.

As promised on Thursday here is another of my current projects.

I need to have a calendar to remind me of all my appointments as well as those of my husbands.  But this year I decided to add a planner to the mix when I read a post by one of my "art gurus" Lorraine Bell.  She showed us how to recreate a planner that was a bit more to my taste.  There are a lot of planners and planner folk that make them a bit too "cutesy" for me. I feel more comfortable with the one she created and is teaching a class about.

Here is the link to her website:     Lorraine Bell Workshops

Here is a quick look at the cover she shows on her website (though elsewhere she shows covers that are all painted up.
And here is mine, so far..........  It has a ways to go....  but I use it EVERY day and really like it a lot.
As she recommended, I use a Moleskin journal...  The 5 by 8 size.  It is perfect for what I need.  If you are interested be sure to check out her site.

I am using my Washi Tape to add extra pages so I have plenty of room for lists of "need  to do" things and such. If you look closely you can see the page I added which is held in by Washi tape.  If you take her class you will learn how to do this properly.
There are some pages in the front of the book that were not serving any purpose for me so I am covering them up with other things.  On the page shown below you can see some pictures I downloaded from the web and printed out.  They are projects I am "thinking" about doing in the future.

I also have printed out details about swaps and such that I am participating in.  It is all in there, neatly.
Check out her site.  The price for the class is very reasonable and you may find it very useful like I did.

And here is a picture of a visitor to one of my backyard gardens. (just yesterday.)  I have been looking at my gardens, thinking I really should start cleaning them up from the winter mess.  Maybe this visitor will help.... LOL.

I hope you will come back to visit on Thursday.  I have already picked out the project I plan to share.

Back Again after quite a hiatus

I am BAAAACCCCKKKK.   I thought I should come back to blogging again.  I am off on a new trail and wanted to share some of it with my readers.  I will still probably do some Tea cup Tuesday entries but not as many.  I just haven't been adding many tea related things to my antique shop or to my own collection.

ART is what has taken over my life.... not fine art where you "draw" stuff but artsy creative stuff like collages, art journaling, altered books and more.

I am also still on a mission to use up my fabric stash so am doing a wee bit of quilting and sewing but not nearly as much as I was doing.

http://march2017.30daysoflists.com/

The first thing I will post about is a fun group I discovered this year called 30 Days of Lists.  It is a bit of art journaling using lists you make each day.  The leaders suggest a "list" for each day.  You can follow it or not.  And you "art up the page" if you wish after adding your list to it.  They do this a couple of times a year.  Since it isn't for the whole year you aren't investing a great deal of time.  Also... if you should miss a couple of days here and there... you can catch up later with other lists you might make.  I personally make lists constantly... groceries, projects I want to do, my days events, things I am "supposed" to be doing.  What ever.  I have been a list maker my whole life I think so this project was just waiting for me to find it.

Here is a picture of the cover of the book I just made.....  And the first page will start on March 1st.  If it sounds like something you would be interested in check out the link above.  It could be a simple way for you to get started on a new adventure.... LOL

I used some paper I had (from a Graphics 45 Christmas Paper pack) and also a sheet of punch out numbers and letters (from Colorbok) to make the cover.  All from my stash!!!  Just a fun thing...(for me anyway).... to do.

I was lucky enough to find a  smallish (6" by 8") journal in my stash. (I keep all sorts of things in my arts and crafts stash...)  Amazingly enough it has exactly the number of pages I needed... to a do a two page spread each day...  and I was able to add a day 31 since March has 31 days.  The first page of the journal will list the "list suggestions" and the last page, while empty now may include a summary or something... who knows.

And if you are new to my blog check out the archives.  I have posts on Teacups of course but also quilting, art, travel, miniatures and all sorts of meandering thoughts.

My goal is to post something every Monday and Thursday.  I might do a Teacup Tuesday on occasion too but not weekly.  So come back to see me on Monday.  I will share another project I am working on at this time.

A pretty tea pot arrangement

Just a quick post today.  This is the flower arrangement I received for Mother's Day.  It is a LOT of pretty flowers in a TEAPOT.   My daughter said she was looking at various Mother's Day arrangements and as soon as she saw the teapot she knew it was the right one.  I certainly think so!

It is a little hard to tell from pictures.  I took a couple more so you can see a bit more.  The first shows the "top" that is sitting on the back and the second is the spout.  This is one arrangement that will turn into a lovely gift when it is gone by.

I hope you enjoyed this quick look...........

Thanks for joining me today and hope you visit all the other Tea Time blogs as well.

I have joined with the following Tea Cup Tuesday Tea Parties.

Hope you will visit them too.
