End of an Era

"Goodbye Fun Finder"

Yesterday we said goodbye to our little camper called the Fun Finder.  We sold it and are now ready to enjoy our bigger one. It was sort of bitter sweet to see it go.  We have wonderful memories of the little Fun Finder.  We attended 4 Nascar races, many Blue Grass festivals and a couple of just plain camping outings.

But now it is time to enjoy our new camper.  The little camper was good but we always we felt like we needed a couple more feet.... so now we do.  Three more to be exact.  We won't have to give up the dinette every night for a bed!  And the bathroom is bigger.

The new camper weighs very little more than the old  one so we can still tow it easily with our mini-vans.
That is good cause we don't need a truck but in our antique business we do need the mini-vans.

I hope to have lots of adventures to report with the new camper.  Stay tuned................

And check back tomorrow for Tea Cup Tuesday!

Fall is Best Time Of Year (Six Word Saturday)

Fall is Best Time Of Year

I love the fall.  I love the fall's colorful leaves. I love the cooler days.
I always seem to feel revitalized at this time of year.

Here is a view across the road from my house.  You can see a bit of "sea smoke"  above the river.  And you can see the colors changing.

And here is the dogwood tree in my side yard with its lovely red leaves.

And finally, here is the "toadstool village" that appears every fall, on top of the roots of a crab apple tree we cut down a few years ago.

Chatty Cathy's Birthday

As I said a few days ago I would tell you all about the Chatty Cathy Birthday Party I attended this past weekend.

I belong to the Chatty Cathy Collectors Club and have been a member for nearly 20 years.  It all started when I started collecting dolls and bought a Chatty Cathy that needed clothes.  I tried to learn as much as I could and discovered a newly formed Club to which I became a member.  The rest is history for me.

This year we were celebrating Chatty's 50th birthday.  And so our luncheon was a bit more festive than usual.

Here is Chatty surrounded by all the gifts she received from all the members.

Here is the absolutely beautiful birthday cake.

Here are a few of the Chatty's with their party hats waiting for the fun.

This Chatty won contest for the best dressed for the party.

And here is the Charmin Chatty I won, all dressed up for the event.
It was a great day.  And the following day we attended a doll show in New Hope so it was a full doll weekend!

Tea Cup Tuesday

http://www.marthasfavorites.com

This is the second week I am showing a series of handpainted bone china tea cups I have for sale out in my antique and collectible shop....  Lavender and Old Lace.
This sweet teacup is another hand painted teacup. Like the teacup last week, it is probably not bone china but still lovely.

The back stamp indicates it is from Sutherland China.  The gold numbers represent who painted it I think.

I think this is so delicate and so pretty.

For those of you who were wondering about pictures of the Chatty Cathy birthday party they will be here tomorrow.

6 Word Saturday

Chatty Cathy Luncheon, 50th Birthday Celebration
I am at the Chatty Cathy Luncheon today, celebrating her 50th birthday.  No kidding.  I belong to the Chatty Cathy Collectors club and once a year we hold a luncheon.  This year we are celebrating this landmark date.
I will have some pictures soon to show you all the festivities.   Yes, I am still a little kid at heart.

Some of this and some of that

What's For dinner????????

I like to try new recipes and one of my favorite sites to find good recipes is  The Mixing Bowl

We love Lasagna but sometimes I don't want to make a huge recipe of it.
So this is what we had for dinner last night..............
click here for recipe for Beef and Spinach Lasagna Roll Ups.

Cat Napping

.............. I love to take pics of the cats and all their strange ways. Here are a few  recent pics I have taken of our cats.  Sleeping seems to be their main job.  And they will sleep anywhere they choose.

In a box.............. yes there are two cats in the box.

On the couch, where ever they fit..................

On top of the wifi and printer..............
They do keep us entertained when they are awake and even when they nap.

Tea Cup Tuesday

I am a bit slow getting this posted but nevertheless, here I am.

http://www.marthasfavorites.com

This week I will begin a series of handpainted bone china tea cups I have for sale out in my antique and collectible shop....  Lavender and Old Lace.

This week I have a dainty, pretty little teacup made by Standard China from England.  It doesn't say it is bone china so it probably isn't but goes beautifully with the other teacups.

and here is a picture of the bottom of the teacup.

I am not trying to sell and of the teacups that I have shown here. Mostly I am just continuing to show all the different types of teacups there are available out there.
But if you are ever interested let me know.
