Tea Cup Tuesday mixed with some flea market finds.

This week I will just be doing a quick tea cup entry.  My husband and I spent most of last week away from home camping at a Bluegrass Festival.  I did NATURALLY find a few tea cups but not nearly as many as I usually find.  I found other interesting things though and I will share a few here.

I found these tea cups at a flea market in Belleville, Pennsylvania. 

Didn't dare turn them upside down for pictures.  But wanted to show them.  And following the teacups are some sugar and creamers I found at another table.  Mostly it just shows there are tea cups everywhere and all different!

After my disappointment at not finding many cups and saucers I decided to take pics of a few of the other things I found.  I actually went to two different flea markets.  The first is just a regular flea market that is held every Wednesday in Reedsville, PA.  All types of items for sale.
Here are a couple of the pictures of things I saw.

 I always look at Rusty things for my rust garden.  I didn't buy any of these pumps but I thought they were all good ones.

 In this picture you can see some windows, (without glass) that some one has decorated with dried flowers.  I suppose you could just hang them as they are, or put pictures in the different frames.

  Next I found these benches made by a local Amish man.  I bought a couple of them to have for sale in my shop unless I decide I "need" to keep them. 

 And then I found this basket filled with hens and chicks.  I am going to keep that item.  Doesn't it look nice on the little bench.  Maybe I will keep this small one. 

And here is a cupboard also made by the same Amish man.  It is made out of shutters I think.

The next flea market we went to was located in Belleville, Pa. A few miles down the road from Reedsville.
This was a regular flea market but also a farm market.  There was an auction of vegetables, small farm animals and although I didn't see it I imagine there was also an auction of larger animals.

 This market was heavily attended by Amish folks.  They were buying and selling.  There were horse and buggies everywhere there was a free space for them.

One booth had a lot of dried flowers.  I bought my self a large bunch and will find somewhere to display them.  Maybe in the house, maybe in my shop.
  
I met a lovely lady at this market who sells primitive crafts she makes.  She is there every week she said.  She used to have a shop but now just sells at the sales.  I enjoyed talking with her.  She gave me good advice on quilt shops and a place to eat as well.

Second Tea Cup Tuesday in July

Hope you all had a pleasant 4th of July.  It has been awfully not here and even our air conditioner didn't like it and quit.  But a new one is in place and we are comfortable again.

For this Tea Cup Tuesday I am going to start instead with a Tea Set that I have up in my shop.  It is copper and I think it is quite stunning.

 And here it is show with a gravy boat and some bone dishes.  I have it up on a nice little drum table up in the "library" section of my shop.  Settle down for a "cuppa" and a good book.

 And since it IS Teacup Tuesday I am showing you a tea cup and saucer I found recently at a flea market.  Don't remember which one.  It was no doubt made in Japan.   And is hand painted.  Pretty bright little flowers, maybe poppies????  There was no mark on the bottom.  Probably originally had a sticker telling about it.

Dear Little Deer

This was the scene that met me when I looked out my backdoor early this morning.  If you read my earlier post on my rust garden you may realize that the area where they are in right around that garden.  If was fun 

to watch them.  Just click on the   arrow on bottom of picture to see them in action,

Pretty Pin Cushion

I  belong to a really fun group on line that makes quilts and guilty type gifts.

   This weeks project was a Tea Cup Pin Cushion.  Since I have a shop full of them the only hard part was deciding which one to use.  That is pretty much why I showed the RoseDale cup and saucer on this weeks edition of Tea Cup Tuesday.  I have several in the shop so figured it would be a good choice.  I visited my craft room and found what I needed to make it.  And so here it is.

To stuff the ball I started with a piece of 0000 (4 ought) steel wool (very fine.)  I put a piece of stuffing in first, then the steel wool and finally added stuffing and stuffing until it was how I wanted it.  I used the hot glue gun to hold it in place, added the trim and then the little flowers.  And I also used hot glue to hold the cup in place. 

I may make  more now that I know it isn't that had.  Just need patience.

First Tea Cup Tuesday in July

A new month! And another Teacup Tuesday!

This week I am showing you a cup and saucer that I have in my shop.  Actually I have several of this pattern and even some plates to match.  The lady I bought them from sold me a lot of similar items.  She loved pink roses and so it didn't seem to matter the pattern as long as there were pink roses in the design.  Maybe in a future week I will show more of them.

This cup and saucer is a Bavarian one, porcelain, not Bone China.  

It is called Rosedale

 And here is a plate to go with the cup and saucer.

And here is the mark

If it was Wednesday, it was Leesport

We were on the road at 5:30am to head for our favorite flea market in Leesport, PA.  That may sound a bit early but it is quite a drive AND you need to get there fairly early.  Many are able to get there a lot earlier. BUT, I refuse to get up any earlier!

It was a beautiful weather day so there were many more dealers than usual AND lots more attendees as well.  So the  day was right and we found lots of goodies.  Also saw a few things to take pictures of for you.
                               One of the dealers I always visit likes to set up with themes on her tables.
                                              This time she had a section of Violet items

and another of jewelry for the 4th of July.  Those pins remind me of fireworks!

 This next lady always has fun things for the primitive style house, a lot of times she makes them from recycled items.  I will admit she gives me good ideas! This may be a manufactured lamp, I don't know.  I just like it.

  I found another great thing for my rust garden!!  It is a very rusty little windmill.  I couldn't believe my luck.  It actually moves in the wind too.  And it was really cheap which is even better!

And while I was taking pictures in my yard today I am adding one of my bird house neighborhood.  I keep finding new ones and just can't seem to stop buying them.  This isn't all either.  I have quite a few hanging here and there.

I didn't take as many pictures as I had planned to take because I didn't take my regular camera.  These were with my phone.  It doesn't do as well.    But you can get the idea of the kind of things I look for.

No tea cups this week either.  I was very disappointed!  Maybe I will find a couple from my shop to show you on the next Teacup Tuesday.

Final Teacup Tuesday in June

Another month ending, and actually 1/2 of a year nearly gone.  Wow, time is moving fast!

This week I am showing you two more cup and saucer sets I saw last week at the Black Diamond Antique shop in Frackville, PA.

The two sets today have blue flowers but very different designs.

The first set is a little hand painted one I think I may have shown before, or one very similar.  I had one in my shop but sold it awhile ago.  It is made by Melba Bone China.
I think it is so sweet.  The little blue handpainted blue flowers really make it special.

The first of the pictures is of the cup and saucer.  This next one is of the little consume cup and saucer.  If you notice, the saucer is square on this one, round on the other.

 And here is the Mark.  If you notice, there is no pattern name listed.  The numbers no doubt represent the artist who did the painting.

 This next set is from Rosina Queens China.  I don't know why it has the two different names.  The mark shows that it is Queens china from Rosina China Co.  I thought it was a very pretty.
This set is nice because it has the dessert plate.

Although it is a bit too shiny to read easily it does say that the pattern is Wild Flowers.  I think there may be other patterns in this style.  Don't know for sure.

I hope we can get to my favorite flea market this Wednesday and if so I hope to find some more cup and saucers to photograph.  Maybe I can find some other interesting stuff too.
