The Shoppe fills up

I visited my local Doll House Shop and found a few things to put in my Hat Shop. I found some shelving, a chevel mirror, a wall shelf and an easel for a picture frame. They are in the roombox now. I will have some "refining to do and my husband is going to spray paint all the white items a solfter ivory color to look better with the trim on the top of the wall.
I am going to let the room box rest now while I think over what I will do next. And while I wait for my husband to spray paint the furniture I want done. Meanwhile I plan to work on a quilt that needs mending and get back to my journal. So probably I won't be doing any talking about doing any doll house fixing up or artwork for awhile.

Mini Monday

So finally a Monday with actual miniature stuff.
I was able to work a bit yesterday, between customers in my real life antique shop. I added trim to the top of shop walls.
I have finally decided it will NOT be a dress shop BUT instead just hats and lingerie. I have lots of hats and plan to make some lingerie from patterns I have found.
Since I had planned to make it a dress shop I was going to need a dressing room and had temporarily borrowed a screen from my doll house to serve that function. But I don't think I will
need one now. So that can go back to the doll house. I had already taken these pictures so it is included
I found some appropriate pictures for the walls. I have put up three, the others will have to wait until I find some shelving I like, to hold all the hat boxes. Then if I still need something on the wall they can go up.

For some reason these pictures are all washed out looking and I didn't even use a flash. I will try again tomorrow to get better color. My camera has been acting up a bit. I hope it is not dying.
I have to admit I am not thrilled with the look of it yet. I think that piece of furniture that is presently holding fabric may go..(it is too clunky looking).... And I need to do something with the floor. And I have to find the table and chairs to use, they are somewhere up in my studio I know.
So right now it is just a box holding the stuff I have made and collected up.

I don't think I will get much done on the shop today because I have a lot of other stuff to do. But check back. You never know.

The construction begins......

I was able to spend yesterday working on the room box. It isn't too far done but it is on its way. I am now working figuring out how to do the various things I want to do to the walls to make it look like the "Milady's Shoppe." Not very fancy at this point. But it is underway. I really can't do much work today because my shop is open and busy AND we are off to an auction tonight. But I am hopeful I can do more tomorrow. Meanwhile I am making plans.

This picture below is the original shop I started. But as you can see it is a little small and doesn't show off things very well. So with the new one I will be able to be a better job I hope. As you can see I already have a lot of items for the shop. And I have a box full of more items not even shown in the picture. So...................... once the walls, floors windows (that I plan to add) are in place I should be ready to add the "inventory" to the shop. I hope to done with most of it by next weekend.

So check in on Monday for more.

A change of pace for January

I have been busy with so many things that my blog has definitely taken a back seat.

The cats have been posing too..... or "caught in the act" anyway.

Spooky loves enclosed places. No wonder our clothes are covered with cat hair....

Spooky likes to lord it over Bentley as well.

The sisters (Spooky (L) and Tuffy (R) really do like each other and can ofter be seen side by side.

Normally by this time of the month of January I am well into a project. Lately it has been miniatures and this year was supposed to be no exception.

Well I will just have to be a little late at it.

I recently bought two room box kits to use for a couple of projects I have worked on but never liked what I had done with them. so....................... I got these two room box kits and will work on them one at a time to finish off these projects.

Not much to show you yet...... but here is a picture of the boxes. Then I will show as I go along.
Later today I will put the first box together and figure out what I have to do to make it like I want it.
The first project is called "Milady's Dress Shoppe" I had made up a shop in a very small room box and it was so crowded and I kept finding things to add to it..... SO..... I hope this will allow me to put everything together.

Tune in Tomorrow.... Saturday, to see how I have progressed, or if I have. I have time to work today as my shop will not be open due to all the snow.

Six Word Saturday

Christmas Over, Life Back to normal?

What ever that is. Christmas Day was quiet for us with out family and kids around. Probably our most relaxing ever. I made our favorite breakfast of french toast and sausage. It is what we usually eat only when we camp. Then unwrapped out gifts. And finally went out to eat.

Now it is the day after Christmas and things will settle back down to normal.... whatever that is. The wind is howling outside and we got a lot of rain the night. That big blizzard that was heading east met up with some warmer weather I guess and turned into the rainy deluge. What little snow we had is pretty much gone.

Today I will take the day off, no work, just play.

Today will be a day off for me. No work, only play. I am excited about that.

Artful Thursday and Kitty Cats

Happy Day Before Christmas

As this is my normal time for Artful Thursday I have a couple of things to show.
As mentioned in previous blogs I am working slowly on a class projects for a class called Remains of the Day by Mary Ann Moss.
This first picture shows all the pages I have cut out. They will have LOTS more added as I go along. But this is the way it begins. I have more pages than I really need "just in case."

And the second picture shows the paper scraps I will use in the second phase.
And now for the fun of our life.... out three kitties. The first picture is of our "bookend" cats. Spooky on the left and Tuffy on the right. They love to sit "up" where they can see and keep an eye on things.

And next Spooky is keeping a sharp eye on Bentley. He is a boy cat, a flame point siamese, who thinks he is royalty however Spooky doesn't agree.
